it's been a while....

My semester started back, I'm coaching 1st grade boys basketball, and work, one of my kids had a birthday.................so I haven't posted in nearly 2 weeks!! I have lots of new pictures to post. Also want to wish Sachie-Tani a safe trip back from Japan today! This is my orange and white kitteh named Virgil. He is mainly an outside cat. He catches all the mice and keeps the birds and bunnehs away from our garden. We let him in when it's too cold! We have crazy weather down here right now. Today it was nearly 70 but tomorrow the high is only 40. ????

Woof Woof Weekend!

Ruby is fitting into the family nicely. She had her first vet visit this week and got her first shot :o( She thinks Missy, the lab, is her mommy! Aren't they cute napping together? They play fight all day long and then pass out sleeping. Holly went to the groomer and got this swanky purple fishnet bow thingy in her hair! It took her about 10 minutes to get it out after we got home! MIssy has been hoarding all of the doggie toys - even the tiny tennis balls I got for Ruby and Holly! On the flip side, Holly has ditched her tiny pink Bobo for Missy's big red Santa Bobo she got for Christmas! We've had some interesting tug-o-wars this week!

She's Officially "Ruby"

Well, she's still here! So we've named her Ruby. She is getting to know the other dogs, the cats could care less about her! She must be very young because she tried to nurse on Missy, our black lab! Missy went through a false pregnancy a few years ago and developed teats. She seems to take to her more than the others. Wonder why? lol - I've considered getting her a supplement to drink since she doesn't have a lot of jaw teeth to eat puppy food with yet. But she seems to be taking to the puppy chow ok. I think she's a little think, but looking at the Boxer breed, they are very streamlined. Anyways, here's Ruby!

Stray Dog Saturday

Is it doggy drop-off season out in the country? This is the second dog this week to turn up in our horse pasture! Only I think this one is going to stick. It's a puppy, looks like a boxer. And she has fixed herself on my husband's lap to sleep! She knows whose butt she has to kiss to get a home! Well, I'll update to let you know if she is still here in a few days. What are we going to name her?? Isn't she adorable??

Announcing Woof-Woof Weekends!

Woof-Woof Weekends will give our doggies a chance to be seen and heard! They can has picture on bwog! We have 2 rescues and one Maltese. Cookie is 13 years old and we adopted her when our daughter turned one. She has a few teeth left and has moved to soft food, but still every bit the head honcho of the group. Our other adoptee is Missy, our black lab. Someone left her in a rental house so we took her in and she "stuck!" She loves to play fetch and has a very busted soccer ball that is her favorite! She also steals apples from the horses! Our lat dog is little Holly. My daughter bought her with her own money and she is our only pure bred dog. Our friend bred her two maltese and we bought Holly from her, not a pet shop or puppy mill. I know that she also bought her dogs from independent breeders. Holly is an attention hound and thinks that everyone that comes to our home is there to see her! We almost got a new doggie last night when a little bulldog (pit bull I think, but very docile) appeared in our horse pasture. She followed my daughter to our house and wanted inside! She was trained and knew how to sit and fetch. She played with the ball for a while and then she was gone. Oh well. We would have been happy to feed her, too. Join the herd! LOL
We'll have to make up a day to include our horses in this blog, too! They have distinct individual personalities and they are so funny and nosey! I have great pictures of them! They're always in the camera trying to hog the lens!
